B.Tech Bio Technology
The Department of Biotechnology is instituted in the year 2020 to promote academic
excellence under the mentoring of resourceful faculty members to produce competent
Biotechnologists. Currently, the Department offers B.Tech in Biotechnology program with
an intake of 23 students which has been approved by AICTE. The department has curated
faculty members who are specialised in the areas of Immunology, Bioprocess and Chemical
Engineering, Genetic Engineering, Computational Biology and Nanobiotechnology. Most of
the Professors have diverse academic and research background as they are graduated from
premier universities and state of the art research institutes in India. The students are
trained to realize the potential need of Biotechnologists in the society and upgrade the
recent advancements in the Biotechnology field.

To be a department that imparts education par excellence in Biotechnology and develops a generation of learners who are apprised with all that Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and Life sciences fields has to offer.

- To apply fundamental technical knowledge and skills to find creative solutions to technological challenges and problems in various areas of basic sciences and engineering
- To take up higher education & to engage in research and development in civil engineering and allied areas of science and technology
- To prepare graduates to deal with ethical and professional issues, taking into account the broader societal implications of civil engineering.
- Use technical, teamwork, and communication skills, along with leadership principles, to pursue civil engineering careers in areas such as structural, transportation, geotechnical, materials, environmental, construction, and water resources engineering or other fields.

- PO 1: Adept scientific knowledge Transfer: The courses taught are aimed to provide a strong foundation across the years in fields within Biotechnology such Medical Technology, Pharmacology, Marine and Food Science.
- PO 2: Biotechnologist and environmental health: This programme gave the potential to maintain and enhance environmental health by using their skills in waste water treatment, biodegradation, bioremediation and measurement of biodegradation
- PO 3: Staying updated on the Latest Developments: With Biotechnology, Research and Development across the world have been offering breakthrough understanding on a daily basis. Students will be expected to stay updated and provided guidance by faculty on the latest development in Biotechnology
- PO 4: Maintenance of health through Medicine and Food products: Graduates understand the source, general features of microbes which produce the fermented foods, enriched foods and also learned biological techniques to estimates antibiotics to enhance health of livings.
- PO 5: Hands on training on learned concepts: To supplement classroom learning, students will also be provided hands on training through State of the Arts Laboratories and Trained staff.
- PO 6: Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Biotechnologist understands the entrepreneurship nature and believes in themselves with the foundation of confidence in their innovative ideas and able to solve the issues with their skills
- PO 7: Personal and Educational Development: The program also believes that each student has the potential to contribute to the society when trained and placed in a progressive environment. The Department of Biotechnology has thought at its heart as learning occurs in and outside classrooms.
